While summer may be over, fall at Waterfront Park brings foggy mornings, cozy gatherings and beautiful sunsets over the Salish Sea. We’ve got a season packed with events and activations and can’t wait to see you at the Park this fall!
We’re kicking off on October 11 and October 25 with Railroad Way Game Day Activations for home games at Lumen Field. The perfect place to get in the game day spirit, come for good food, drinks and, most importantly, game day energy. Lace up your running shoes for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 10 hosted by The American Cancer Society. The 2.5-mile dog and family-friendly route heads south to Stadium Plaza before looping back to finish at Pier 62 in support of breast cancer initiatives.
We’re thrilled to partner with Hummingbird Indigenous Family Services for Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 12. This family-friendly event will bring Indigenous vendors and chefs, hands-on activities including a story hour for kids and music by local Indigenous artists to Pier 58.
This Halloween the waterfront is getting spooky! Presented by the Port of Seattle, Pier 66 is transforming into a spooky dance floor for Spooky Salsa & Boo-chata on October 31. This popular event returns for a second year, perfect for both beginners and seasoned dancers, with professional dance lessons by Sazón Dance Events, an open dance floor and a spooky costume competition. Also returning on October 31 is our Waterfront Park Firepit Socials series, a cozy way to gather with friends on Pier 62. Running from October 31 through March 14, you can find Firepit Socials on Pier 62 every Saturday and Sunday from 3-6 p.m. and don’t forget to grab a toasty drink or snack to warm up.
Friends’ second annual Dinner with Friends fundraising dinner and auction is on November 13 at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront, celebrating the first full year of the completed Waterfront Park and those who helped this waterfront vision come to life. Come ready to celebrate and support the work of Friends to ensure Waterfront Park continues to thrive as a vibrant gathering space.
A 2-day film series kicks off on November 21 at the Bay Auditorium at Pier 66. The Stories Water Keeps, presented by the Port of Seattle, explores Indigenous knowledge, maritime history and the evolving Seattle Waterfront. Film screenings will be followed by facilitated conversations led by guest speakers including Tribal leaders, maritime professionals and community voices. We’re continuing to explore stories of the waterfront on December 6 with a Waterfront Writing Workshop lead by Friends’ inaugural Writer in Residence, Owen Oliver. Hosted at Pier 56, this workshop will start with a lecture on site-specific writing by Owen followed by guided writing practices.
We’re wrapping up the season on December 19 & 20 with the Waterfront Park Solstice Winter Market at Pier 66. This festive winter market will feature local vendors and small businesses and tasty food and drinks—all along the waterfront.
Don’t miss Pop-Up Bites on Pier 62 and the Pier 58 Plaza throughout the fall with a rotating line up of local food and drink vendors. While the days may be getting chilly, Waterfront Park remains alive with culture and community this fall. Whether debuting your spooky salsa costume or simply meeting friends around the firepit, we hope you’ll meet us at Waterfront Park this fall.
