Friends strives to ensure Waterfront Park and our events are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to everyone. We offer the following resources and are continually seeking to expand our offerings to meet specific requests as needed. Waterfront Park Amenities

  • ADA accessible park
  • Seating (Wheelchair accessible)
  • Gender neutral, ADA accessible restrooms (Pier 62, more restrooms coming to Pier 58 soon)
  • Cooling Fans (At Pier 62 events)
  • Water Stations (During summer at Pier 62, more water stations along Waterfront Promenade coming soon)
  • Food (At Pier 62 events – see which food trucks will be available here)

Event Resources

  • ASL Interpreters (Select events)
  • Sensory Tent (Select Events)
  • Sensory kits (All events + By request: Noise-reducing headphones, ear plugs, blankets, scented and weighted neck wraps, fidget toys, etc.)
  • Assisted Listening Devices (Offered at select events or by request)
  • Courtesy wheelchairs (By request or for select events)

Transportation

  • Returning summer 2025: FREE Waterfront shuttle with stops along Alaskan Way, Seattle Center, Pioneer Square, the International District, and the waterfront. Dates of operation for 2025 summer.
  • Public elevators to reach the waterfront can be found at Overlook Walk, Pike Place Market Garage, Union St., Lenora St., and Bell St.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

In 2024, Friends launched a citizen advisory committee comprised of leaders and representatives of disability communities in Seattle and the Puget Sound area. This committee has been integral to shaping our accessibility efforts along the park. Learn more about all three of our committees here.
