Spring has arrived at Waterfront Park, and the season of renewal is in full swing. As the waterfront bursts into bloom, it’s not just the flowers making a statement—new additions to the park are transforming the way visitors move, relax, and connect with nature.
Whether you’re cruising along the waterfront on two wheels, stopping for a scenic break, or marveling at nature’s seasonal spectacle, there’s something new to experience at every turn.
Pedal Power: A Smoother, Safer Ride
Whether you’re a daily commuter or a weekend adventurer, the new protected bike lane makes riding along the waterfront a breeze. Designed for safety and ease, this dedicated lane keeps cyclists separated from vehicle traffic and pedestrian pathways, creating a smoother, more enjoyable ride.
With Seattle’s bike network continuing to expand, this addition strengthens connections between neighborhoods, businesses, and waterfront attractions. So grab your helmet, soak in the views, and pedal into spring with confidence!

A Rest Stop Worth Stopping For
Great public spaces need great public amenities, and we’re making sure visitors have exactly that. Newly installed public restrooms at Waterfront Park, located between Union and University streets on the promenade, mean more convenience and comfort for everyone.
These restrooms are designed with privacy, accessibility, and cleanliness in mind. The facility includes six all-gender stalls with full-height partitions, an accessible toilet stall, an accessible countertop for baby changing and other needs, and easy-to-use handwashing and drying stations. The open-air design provides clear sightlines while maintaining a connection to the waterfront, and the polycarbonate canopy allows for filtered natural light by day and a lantern-like glow at night.
Seattle Center will provide dedicated maintenance and safety teams to ensure these facilities remain clean and secure, with daily cleanings and operational hours from 8 AM to 7 PM, extended to 10 PM between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Friends of Waterfront Park will also have a full-time concierge on-site, offering assistance and helping maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
