Seattle’s waterfront has always been a place where the city meets the water, but this year, it’s becoming something more. With the full 20-acre Waterfront Park opening this September, we’re inviting you to make it yours. Meet Me at Waterfront Park is a call to gather, celebrate, and create the moments that will define Seattle’s next chapter.
This isn’t just a park. It’s a free, year-round, community-driven space that stretches from Pioneer Square Habitat Beach to Pier 62 and Overlook Walk. It’s 20-acres of open sky and salty air, of playgrounds and gardens, of music, art, and spontaneous joy. And it’s waiting for you.
Together, We’re Building More Than a Park
Waterfront Park is the city’s biggest public open space investment since the 1962 World’s Fair gave us Seattle Center. This is an outcome of what we can create together when we dream big about our public spaces.
But here’s the thing: a park is only as alive as the people who show up to fill it. Your presence—whether you’re coming down for a lunch break, bringing your kids to the playground at Pier 58, or joining a summer concert—turns Waterfront Park from a space into a place. Every visitor, every shared laugh, every memory made helps knit this new park into the fabric of Seattle.
Your participation also supports something bigger. As our downtown continues to evolve, Waterfront Park is designed to be a hub of civic pride and connection. Every visit contributes to a stronger, more vibrant city core. When you show up, you’re helping build the kind of downtown that reflects the heart of Seattle: welcoming, creative, and deeply connected to the water.

Answer Our Invitation and Extend to Your Community
You can make a big impact as we share all the ways Waterfront Park is here for you, your friends, family and community. Here are the ways to join us:
1. Join the Grand Opening Celebration on September 6!
Mark your calendar now—the day Seattle has been waiting for is almost here! On September 6, we’re throwing a Grand Opening Celebration with our partners at the Office of the Waterfront, Civic Projects & Sound Transit and Seattle Center for the full 20-acre Waterfront Park. Expect live music, food vendors, art, family-friendly activities, and plenty of moments to soak in the view.
Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring your neighbors, coworkers, and even your pets. This is a day for everyone, and the more the merrier.
2. Share the Excitement on Social Media
Help us spread the word beyond the waterfront!
Post photos, stories, or videos tagging @waterfrontparkseattle on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and LinkedIn . Use hashtags like #MeetMeAtWaterfront and invite others to join you. Your posts don’t just share the news—they build the momentum that turns this park into Seattle’s go-to gathering place.
3. Spread the Word in Your Community
Sometimes the best way to create buzz is simply to tell the people around you. Mention the Grand Opening to your coworkers. Share it on your neighborhood and community boards. Bring it up at your kid’s soccer game or your book club. Personal invitations carry weight, and every conversation helps the park’s story reach further.
4. Attend and Support Free Events This Season
The Grand Opening is just the beginning. Waterfront Park is hosting 270+ free events and experiences this year—art installations, music performances, wellness activities, and nature-based programming for all ages. The best way to support the park is to be a regular. Show up often, bring friends, and make it part of your routine.
