Proudly Partnered with Mother Yoga

Mother Yoga Seattle is a deeply community-rooted studio devoted to making the transformative practice of yoga accessible to all. In a time when so many are seeking meaningful support for their mental, emotional, and physical well-being, Mother Yoga is proud to offer sliding scale classes so that authentic yoga remains within reach for a wide range of people.

Grounded in the traditional roots of the practice, Mother Yoga is known for upholding the ethics, integrity, and spiritual depth of yoga while fostering a space that feels warm, welcoming, and profoundly real.

More than a studio, Mother Yoga is a gathering place for sincere practice, connection, and healing an authentic community where people come not only to move, but to belong. You can find the Mother Yoga Seattle studio located nearby in the Chinatown-International District.

Nancy Nomellini is the owner of Mother Yoga Seattle, where she has become known as a deeply respected teacher, mentor, and community leader devoted to preserving the integrity and transformative power of yoga.

A true “teacher’s teacher,” Nancy regularly leads 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings, while also teaching extensively both domestically and internationally. She is especially recognized for her commitment to building meaningful community within Seattle’s CID, and for creating spaces where practice, belonging, and spiritual inquiry can flourish. Nancy also leads annual spiritual pilgrimages to India, offering students the opportunity to experience yoga at its source.

Now in her second year at Waterfront Park, she brings to each class a energetic, soulful presence and a deep reverence for the path always returning to the truth that what she loves most about teaching is the continual reminder that we are far more alike than different, and that we deeply need one another along the journey.

Rooted in the Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga traditions, Julia’s classes welcome all bodies and levels of experience, while honoring contemporary culture and lifestyle (beats anyone?) and being open to play and possibilities on the mat.

In 2023 Julia completed 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman at The Yoga Shanti in New York, and also incorporates the voices of all of her teachers over the past 20 or so years.

Julia is excited to share, practice and learn yoga together while building community with all of you.  Her favorite Sutra is 1.1 Atha yoga-anusasana, roughly translated to: Now, the teachings of yoga!

Nithya James

As a seasoned technologist from India, Nithya had the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest yoga teachers, including Regeesh Vattakandy and Mrinali Madhukar. She specializes in Hatha and Vinyasa.

As an artist, Nithya is always exploring how to use her mind and body to their full potential through various forms of art and yoga. Her curiosity about the science behind body movements and the brain led her to study and practice yoga, and she has come to believe that our bodies are capable of achieving almost anything if we can convince our minds to allow it.

Nithya is grateful for the strength and energy that yoga brings into her life, and she is eager to share these benefits with others.
