Party with Friends on Pier 62

Join us on Pier 62 at Waterfront Park for Pier Party, Friends’ 2nd annual fundraiser! Waterfront Park is the largest civic project in Seattle since the 1962 World’s Fair. With a nod to the creativity and optimism of the Century 21 Exposition, we will highlight and celebrate the present moment while inviting partygoers to imagine Seattle as the “City of the Future” within this inspiring new public space opening next year.

This is not your traditional sit-down gala. Instead, guests are encouraged to explore the pier, interacting with retro-futuristic art installations, music, and entertainment. A brief program will be held at 7pm. Please note that this is a 21+ event.

Friends of Waterfront Park is the 501c3 nonprofit responsible for fundraising, stewarding, and programming Waterfront Park alongside our community – today and into the future. Learn more about Seattle’s new 20-acre park.

All tickets include:

  • Dinner, dessert, and drinks (alcoholic and N/A options) from local food trucks and pop-up restaurants
  • Validated parking near Pier 62
  • Interactive art elements
  • Live entertainment
  • Art exhibit featuring a limited number of student pieces from Gage Academy of Art. In line with our theme, student work reflects their experiences, interpretations and reflections of their personal community spaces—but 62 years into the future! Guests can silently bid on pieces throughout the evening.
  • Automatic entry (1 per ticket) for the chance to win two Alaska Airlines flight vouchers

FAQ

Friends of Waterfront Seattle is the 501c3 nonprofit responsible for operating, stewarding, and programming Waterfront Park alongside our community – today and into the future. Friends is working towards a $170 million comprehensive campaign goal, which includes $110M to finish park construction plus $60 million to support the first two decades of free public programming, operations, and public safety.

We hope to raise $500,000 through ticket purchases and sponsorships. Thank you for supporting this effort to the extent you are able!

Pier Party fundraising happens up front through ticket sales (there will not be a raise-the-paddle at the event), so please choose the tier that best allows you to attend a grand summer party on the waterfront and financially support the work of Friends.

We understand that fundraisers are often exclusive and financially inaccessible. Our hope is that the sliding scale ticket option offers those with limited resources to join us at Pier Party. We may be able to release more discounted tickets as we secure sponsorships.

You can add multiple individual tickets to your cart, or purchase a Lodgepole Pine ticket (includes 5 tickets) or a Willow Oak ticket (includes 10 tickets).

Registration requires your attendees’ names, emails, phone numbers and zip codes. Placeholder information is okay if you do not have these details yet. You will receive an email within one week of your purchase with a link to an online portal where you can update attendee information. It is important to update this information when you have it so that your guests can receive event communications directly!

Every registered attendee to Pier Party 2024 will be automatically entered to win two Alaska Airlines ticket vouchers, excluding Friends of Waterfront Seattle employees, volunteers, partners, and sponsors. No purchase or obligation necessary to enter or win the two airline ticket vouchers. Must be 18 or older as of July 26, 2024. Winners will be selected via random name drawing tool during the event on July 26, 2024; must be present to win. If you would like to enter to win the tickets without purchasing a ticket to Pier Party, please email your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address to [email protected] before 5 p.m. on July 25, 2024.

  • Main Cabin roundtrip vouchers are valued at $1,250 each.
  • Vouchers need to be ticketed/booked prior to their expiration date (4/25/2025), but travel can occur after the expiration date.
  • Only valid for flights on Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air, not valid on Alaska Airlines’ partners.
  • No blackout dates.
  • Alaska Airlines is not responsible if the certificate is lost or stolen. Vouchers are not transferrable and are subject to additional terms and conditions on the applicable Travel Authorization Form.

Absolutely! You can donate on the ticket purchase page or using the Donate button on our website. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions and thank you for your support!

Dress 62 years into the future on Pier 62! Think metallic, sparkles and bold colors. As always, we encourage folks to be comfortable when visiting the pier.

Pike Place Parking Garage

Guests receive complimentary parking at Pike Place Market Garage. There are three separate entrances to this garage. Please only park in a garage with the Pike Place Market logo!

  1. 1530 Alaskan Way — this is the closest to the waterfront
  1. 1531 Western Ave. — after entering, proceed down to a lower level to be closest to the waterfront
  1. 1901 Western Ave. — after entering, proceed down to the 4th floor. Follow the opening to switch to the south garage and proceed to a lower level to be closest to the waterfront.

You may park on any level in this garage and proceed to Alaskan Way. Validation tickets will be handed to guests arriving at Pier 62 for the event.

Please note! DO NOT park in the MarketFront Parking Garage, which is right next to the Pike Place Market Garage; your ticket is not valid in that garage.

Valet

Valet services can be found along Alaskan Way at roughly 1950 Alaskan Wy, Seattle, WA 98101, just south of Bell Harbor Marina.

*Please note that due to construction, you cannot access this location while driving north along Alaskan Way. You must drive south along Alaskan Way to access valet and Pier 62. Butler Valet will have a list of all guests with valet access. Due to limited parking capacity, guests who try to use valet not on the list will be asked to park at Pike Place Market Parking Garage.

There will be a mix of food trucks and pop-up restaurants, which will include gluten-free, pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan food options.

  • There will be ASL interpreters for the event (located by the stage)
  • Designated sensory tent (located on the southwest end of the Pier)
  • Sensory kits (located inside the sensory tent)
  • A dedicated staff member available on-site for day-of assistance. (Please ask any staff member onsite to identify them.)
  • About the space: Pier 62 is an outdoor space providing various amenities such as seating, shade, water, cooling fans, and ADA accessible restrooms.

Please email [email protected] with any questions or accessibility requests and we will do our best to accommodate.

We recognize the Pacific Northwest can experience extreme heat and smoke during the summer months. If this is the case, we will cancel Pier Party for everyone’s safety. We are not able to issue refunds due to event cancellation as this is a fundraiser to support the work of Friends and stewardship of Waterfront Park.

We typically cancel events if the Air Quality Index is predicted to be over 150 at the event site. This is the beginning of the “unhealthy” air quality range. We also typically cancel events if the National Weather Service issues a Heat Advisory or an Excessive Heat Warning at the event site. Friends may cancel events even if one of these criteria is not met if our public safety team deems conditions are unhealthy or unsafe.

We are also not able to issue a refund if you are unable to attend Pier Party after purchasing a ticket. However, we are happy to transfer your ticket to another individual with advance notice. Thank you for understanding.

Thank you for being willing to donate your time! We do not currently have a volunteer program, but if you’d like to stay up to date on future opportunities you can sign up for our newsletter.

Unfortunately, no. This is a 21+ event. You can see our full summer programming schedule, including family-friendly events, on our events page.
