Art Exhibition at Stadium Plaza

Introducing the new art exhibition at Stadium Plaza

Friends of Waterfront Park is excited to announce a brand-new outdoor art exhibition located at Stadium Plaza. This installation is an important part of Friends’ Public Art Program initiatives and the first step in infusing the new public space with culture and vibrancy. The exhibition features nine free-standing art displays that double as public seating, with solar-powered lighting so that visitors can enjoy the plaza and artwork, day or night.

We are honored to curate, manage, and present art works by a new Indigenous artist each year, and we are working with our Pulling Together Committee to select future artists. With each new year, you’ll be able to discover and enjoy fresh ideas, themes, and art at the new at exhibition.

Located at Stadium Plaza – the new pedestrian connection and gateway linking the waterfront to Pioneer Square and the Stadiums – the exhibition offers a safe place of rest, enjoyment, and diverse artistic connection among community members and park visitors, alike.

About the Artist: Kimberly Saladin (Muckleshoot)

I am an enrolled member of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. I have been self-taught in digital art since 2000. I have a passion for color and texture

For years, my art was mostly in the fantasy, and portrait genre, created to share with my online friends and community. Art remained a hobby for me for many years.

I eventually brought my art back to my own cultural roots and began developing the Native themes you see today. At that point, my career began to take wing and has been soaring ever since.

I wake up each day eager and driven to create. Much of my work begins with an inspiration – a flash of vision, followed by my scribbling.

It is my dream come true, to use my gifts to honor my people. I know now that this is truly what I was born to do, and I cannot begin to say how much all of you mean to me. I am sending out my biggest hug to each and every one of you!
