August 26
Plankton Explorers & Otter Puppets

Plankton Explorers:

Join Seattle Aquarium experts as they uncover the amazing life that hides in every drop of seawater: plankton! It comes in thousands of different varieties, so experts can never be sure exactly what will be found during this event. Seattle Aquarium staff will bring special equipment to collect plankton, as well as microscopes for observation. Visitors will see something truly unexpected and maybe even something Aquarium staff have never seen before!

Event is limited to 20 participants at a time who will get hands on in the order they arrive. Event will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

All ages

Otter Puppets:

Aquarium staff will focus on the amazing diversity of play in marine ecosystems, and compare that to what it means for humans to play. Play at our otter-themed activity table. It’s a day dedicated to fun and to our playful otter friends.

Activity is geared toward youth and all activities are family-friendly. Activity limited to 30 participants at a time. Activity will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Masks are optional (subject to change per public health guidelines).
