Join Seattle Aquarium for fun activities open to all ages. The focus of each event varies from learning to storytelling and art, see event details by date for more. Events will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Ocean‑Themed Story Time
Join Seattle Aquarium staff for a story on the pier with an ocean-themed children’s book. Following the story, staff will lead youngsters in an animal-themed puppet craft designed especially for them.
Event is recommended for children ages six and under and their families. No reservation is necessary, but space is limited to 30 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive at least 20 minutes early for the best seats.
June 4
Harbor Seal Pup Shower
It’s a seal-ebration! Every spring and summer, seal and sea lion mothers along the West coast give birth to their new generation of pups. You’re invited to join the Seattle Aquarium as we throw a Pup Shower in their honor. Participants will play games, make cards for the new parents, and learn the best gift they, as humans, can give their new seal neighbors.
All ages are welcome. Event limited to 30 participants at a time. Games will be played on a rotating basis so everyone gets a turn, and the craft table will be available throughout the day. Seattle Aquarium educators will be on hand to answer questions and provide insight into our local seal population.

Otter Triva & Table Fun with Family Day at Pier 62
Join the Seattle Aquarium to play together for Family Day at Pier 62! Aquarium staff will focus on the amazing diversity of play in marine ecosystems, and compare that to what it means for humans to play. Staff will test your otter trivia and play at our otter-themed activity table. It’s a day dedicated to fun and to our playful otter friends.
Event is geared toward youth and all activities are family-friendly. Event limited to 30 participants at a time. Event will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Art Day / Plankton Tow with Waterfront Block Party
It’s a Friends of the Waterfront Block Party and everyone is invited! Seattle Aquarium staff and educators will offer a choice of fun art activities for all ages. Visitors may find themselves studying the incredible diversity of plankton under a microscope, or engaged in a craft project.
Event will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Fishy Painting & Prints with Waterfront Block Party
Join Seattle Aquarium staff for a relaxing day of art on the pier. At one station, participants will paint a portrait of one of the many beautiful marine invertebrates of Puget Sound. At another, staff will lead a fish printing activity. These art projects are designed for everyone!
Event will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Event limited to 20 people at a time.

Plankton Explorers
Join Seattle Aquarium experts as they uncover the amazing life that hides in every drop of seawater: plankton! It comes in thousands of different varieties, so experts can never be sure exactly what will be found during this event. Seattle Aquarium staff will bring special equipment to collect plankton, as well as microscopes for observation. Visitors will see something truly unexpected and maybe even something Aquarium staff have never seen before!
Event is limited to 20 participants at a time who will get hands on in the order they arrive. Event will be held outdoors, so please dress for the weather.
